Shabby chic is no faux pa

That’s right, the title says it all. Actually, I’m not even sure what I am getting at with the title but when blogging I try and let my stream of conscious run wild. In this way, I do not feel obligate to edit before publishing. Congrats, you’re reading garbage!

For those of you still interested in the point of the post, read on. My friend Cambre is a brave, fiercely brave woman. She decided to ramp up her family’s main living space with pops of white and bold “shabby chic” painted furniture. All of the pieces are stunning. Here’s a before an after piece of the coffee table:

Mostly, I wanted an excuse to post some very cut photographs of Cambre in her Big Mac coveralls. A girl can dream, right?

Okay, okay — back to the before and afters. this won’t take long, I promise.

One thing that’s wonderful about this kind of “restoration” or aesthetic changes is that it’s nearly impossible to mess up!

I mean, not that Cambre would mess up or anything but look at this coffee-ring-looking blemish in the coffee table. We just sanded it down to a smooth finish and painted it right in with the rest of the surface. It appears like new, now!

The piece is not complete. No, not even yet. Out friend Amy is going to work her magic and we’ll get back to you with the REAL “after” shots soon. For now, just enjoy this moment.

And, as always, thanks for stopping by.
